Detail | ●Meiwa 5 Monme-Gin was the first countable currency minted during Edo period. Silver coins back then were necessary to weight the amount of silver for each deal. Every merchant cannot be bother with such payment method so they were willing to have some countable currency circulate in a market. Silver purity is same as a Genbun Cho-Gin circulate at the same period. |
