Detail | ●"Mameitagin" was a silver coin circulated during the Edo period (1601-1865). This Tenpo Mameitagin was minted for 21 years (1837-1858). Double-sided Daikoku was very special piece that issued commemoratively for a Shogun. The first work day of the year at the silver-mint, a craftsman mint a Double-sided piece with a first fire in the kiln. It was a gift piece for a Shogun, so most pieces found today are wrapped neatly in a cotton and keeping high preservation.
